Made in Germany, these Herbert Birnbaum plastic proofing baskets are a highly hygienic alternative to traditional rattan bannetons. Unlike baskets made from other materials these durable polypropylene baskets they are a breeze to clean up and can be washed in your dishwasher.
There’s no need to use a cloth basket liner with these baskets as they are designed with over 80 vents with allow the dough to breathe. The result is a dough that proofs evenly and releases from the basket without sticking! The traditional coil pattern imprints, a deep crust develops.
This basket will hold approximately 1kg of dough, with a 23cm diameter.
