Forged Bread Knife 20cm

Italian made Serrated Forged Bread Knife. Bread knife's uses aren't just limited to cutting bread, it can also be used to cut cakes or any delicate baked good. The knife's long serrated blade works best on food that is hard on the outside and soft on the inside like bread. Thanks to the serrations on the blade, the points can grip the outside without squashing the delicate bread. The long blade limits the user having to cut back and forth, which can squash the bread.

 

Forged knives are made from a single bar of stainless steel, they are heated and then hammered into shape. Pounding and hammering the steel rearranges the molecules, compressing them to make a harder and stronger blade, while also holding a sharper edge  than a stamped knife. The forging and sharpening are all done by hand, the result is a blade that offers the perfect cut. 

Forged knives are from the Coltelleria Paolucci 'Master Chef' line, and are designed to suit the needs of the best chefs and home cooks. 

The black POM riveted handle finsihes off this elegant range of knives. At the same time, the handles are ergonomically designed so that the knife is comfortable and safe to grip over prolonged use. The Coltelleria Paolucci forged knives have a full tang, which provides a great balance to their knives.

The Company ‘Coltellerie Paolucci’ was founded in 1972, but their routes go back much further, with the Paolucci family opening up their metal working shops in 1791 in Frosolone, Italy.
