Fresh Sausage Casing - 32mm
These fresh hog casings for sausages have been cleaned and packed salt. The salt will keep the freesh casings preserved for many months. Our casings are top quality, locally processed and have very little fragrance to them.
Hog casings make the best eating and cooking sausage, these skins will expand and contract during cooking which almost eliminates the chance of bursting.
32mm diameter is a medium size sausage casings ideal for continental and gourmet sausages , as well as small salamini.
Directions for use:
Simply remove as much casing as needed and clean thoroughly under cool constant running water.
We like to soak the casings in water with a splash of wine and a wedge of citrus in a small bowl of water to get rid of any residual scent.
The rest of the casings can remain preserved in the salt until needed again.
It is always best to sausages on a lower, slower temperature to avoid the potential of bursting.
